Environmental Settings

Environmental parameters may be configured for each room. These are solely for ambient effect and do not influence gameplay in any way. The weather dialog contains the following parameters:

  1. Outside (toggle): Set to mark this room as an outside area. This affects whether ceiling or open sky is reflected in water.
  2. Lightning (toggle): Check to have thunder and lightning flash randomly.
  3. Clouds overhead (toggle): Check this to show clouds floating by above the room.
  4. Cloud shadows (toggle): Enabling this causes unseen clouds to cast shadows down onto the room.
  5. Skip light crossfade (toggle): Set this to not display the lighting crossfade that occurs by default when entering the room from a room set to a different light level.
  6. Darkness (slider): By default, the room is fully lit (i.e. daylight). Increasing the darkness value will lower the room lighting. At any light level less than full daylight, wall cast shadows will no longer be displayed. At the lowest light levels, the player has a lantern light that shines around them.
  7. Fog height (slider): By default, no fog is shown. Raising this value will make fog swirl in pits, over the floor, or covering the entire room.
  8. Snow (slider): Determines the rate of snowfall.
  9. Rain (slider): Determines the rate of rainfall.
